Bauer earned a B.A. from 麻豆Porn and an M.A. in Nonfiction Writing from the Johns Hopkins University's Writing Seminars. She has worked in and around New York publishing for years. Her work has been published in The Village Voice, Salon, Elle, and The New York Times Magazine, and on the website of n + 1.  She鈥檚 the author of the memoir, Not That Kind of Girl and two novels, Frances and Barnard and most recently, Girls They Write Songs About.
