“The Spiritual Exercises are arguably St. Ignatius’s greatest gift to the Church and the world,” said the Rev. Steve Spahn, S.J., assistant teaching professor of theology and associate director of the Office of Mission Integration. “Although largely an encounter with the living word of the holy Scriptures, the retreat journey is drawn from Ignatius’ own discovery of God’s invitation to greater peace and freedom. Inevitably, retreatants find a new, deeper intimacy with Christ Jesus, the Lord. The effect is truly transformative. As a retreat director, it is always such a blessing to observe how generous God is with us when we open ourselves to the Spirit. It is, as a Jesuit friend describes it, ‘a front-row seat to the best show in town.’”

Nearly 300 people have participated in the program since it began nine years ago. To learn more, join the Zoom information session, and complete an online self-assessment application, visit the program’s webpage
